Summer Sun

March 29, 2021 Dear Angel Community,

SCHOOL STATUS

The Health Advisory Committee met on Friday and determined that we would continue operating under the Low-Risk/Green protocols of our SS2020 plan. A couple of items were discussed that might be of interest: * Several travel-related cases were identified in the Borough recently. All are isolated and will come out of quarantine in the next week.

* CDC has not changed travel recommendations at this time. * The commercial fishing season is beginning with 250+ workers coming to support the herring season within the next couple of weeks. Please be vigilant in following the protective measures.

SCHOOL RE-ENTRY!

After a ton of work from the Borough, Contractors and Design team we are finally cleared to reoccupy the High School wing of the school. This is something that we are all extremely excited about.

School staff spent much of their weekend moving into the spaces that will be used for the remainder of the school year. Their efforts in changing instructional modes multiple times over the course of the last year are commendable, thank you.

Students will return to the school building Monday, March 29th. Parents and students should have received instructions and schedules last week. If you have any questions, please contact Principal Harvilla.

SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION

School construction will focus on the following: *Completion of windows install in the new gym wing. *Old gym wall & storage cabinet finishes. *Elementary wing-electrical, mechanical, walls, floors, etc. *Principal’s office, entry. *After the thaw; grading, ditches, culverts, and playground.

The school grounds continue to be an active construction zone so please do not drive in or around the facility.

Have a great weekend!

Bill Hill Superintendent
