Open House & Potluck BBQ

Thursday September 19 will be our annual Open House/Board BBQ Potluck.  This is a great time to meet our new teacher and visit your child's classroom.  The schoolboard members will again be cooking up burgers, but we ask families to bring a dish to share.  The potluck starts at 6 with the open house to follow.  We hope you'll join us.

Thank you, Bristol Bay

I will be leaving Bristol Bay on Sunday, June 23rd and moving down to Craig, AK the next week.  I wanted to say thank you for allowing me to be a part of this district for the past six years.  I have learned so much, and had so many great opportunities to hekp support student success.  Ours is a district of great students, caring families, and a staff that is second to none.  None of that is possible without a great Board setting a vision and path to success.  In the years ahead, Mr. Hill and Mr. Dube will prove to be great leaders and a great leadership team.  Keep up the good work and always aim high. I know Bristol Bay will continue to be a high performing district, and a district that focuses on the students first.

Summer Reading Program (UPDATED)

Maria Comeaux will be leading a summer reading program at the Naknek Native Village Council every Wednesday from 1:00 - 3:00 with age groups alternating each week.  The first week is June 12th for grades pre-K through 2nd.  The second week will be for grades 3-5.  This will last through the end of July.
Please note that there will be no reading program the week of July 3rd.
Each week there will be stories and activities. For more information contact Maria at 246-3606.

Summer Camps in June

The school will be having a science themed summer camp again this year weekdays from June 3- 21. The program runs from 9 -12 each day. Teachers will be using "Project Wild" and "Growing Up Wild" curriculum materials. Growing up wild is for students from 3-6 years of age; project wild is for students 7 years to about 5th grade. Space in each group is limited. Transportation is available on our bus, but that space is limited as well. If you are interested please contact the school office at 246-4265. There is no charge for either program and a snack will be provided. We will also have a camp in early August with more of a cultural focus. Those details will come later.
